
Matthew Jenkins
- ProfileMatthew specialises in Employment Law and Civil Litigation and was appointed to the position of Deputy District Judge of the South Eastern Circuit in May 2020.
Matthew deals with a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, advising both Employers and Employees. As such he can advise on anything from unfair dismissal and discrimination to Transfer of Undertakings for companies (TUPE).
Matthew also deals with a substantial number of landlord and tenant disputes as well as other general contractual disputes (both consumer and commercial).
- BackgroundMatthew started his training contract at Streeter Marshall in 2007 and went on to qualify in January 2009. Matthew now specialises in Employment Law and Civil Litigation cases. Matthew advises a variety of clients both private individuals and larger companies on a range of matters.
- AchievementsMatthew was appointed to the position of Deputy District Judge in May 2020 and will begin sitting in the County Court in the near future.
Whilst working at the firm Matthew has conducted many successful litigations within the County Court, High Court and Employment Tribunals, bringing matters to a successful close at trial or by achieving satisfactory settlement. He has successfully sought injunctive relief on emergency housing matters and enjoys regular success In obtaining possession orders against trespassers
